The Residence Palace of the Würzburg prince-bishops is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the absolute highlight of every Würzburg visit. The tour takes you into one of the most beautiful baroque palaces in Europe. You will admire one of the largest ceiling fresco paintings of the world, painted by the famous Venetian artist Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. We will also encounter some of the finest examples of Würzburg rococo, especially the world-renowned mirror cabinet, reconstructed some 30 years ago. After the visit of the palace a stroll through the Court Garden is highly recommendable. Learn why the court locksmith Johann Georg Oegg was not very popular in the local guild, who raped Proserpina and Europe and why in former times students and soldiers were not allowed to enter the Court Garden.
