The combined tour of the Old City and a visit of the Residence Palace gives you an ideal picture of Würzburg’s historic and cultural richness. Meeting point and order of the tour is according to your preference.

The tour of the Old City leads you to the most important places of interest such as St. Kilian’s Cathedral, Newminster Church, Falcon House, St. Mary’s Chapel, Wine-inn Stachel, Town Hall, and the Old Main Bridge. You will hear interesting and amusing details about kings, prince-bishops, minstrels, citizens as well as peasants. Needless to say that on our way we will encounter works by the great artists of Würzburg such as Tilman Riemenschneider and Balthasar Neumann.

The Residence Palace and the Court Garden should be part and parcel of every Würzburg visit. The prince-bishop’s Residence, built by Balthasar Neumann, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts visitors from all over the world. Inside the Residence Palace you will see one of the largest ceiling fresco paintings of the world, painted by the well-known Venetian artist Giovanni Battista Tiepolo.
