The combined tour of Marienberg Fortress and UNESCO-World Heritage Site – Residence Palace makes you familiar with the central historic locations of the Würzburg prince-bishops. The venerable Marienberg Fortress, one of the oldest German seats of governances, reveals more than1000 years of Franconian history. From the Prince’s Garden you can enjoy an awesome view onto the Old City of Würzburg. After the tour of Marienberg Fortress we either walk downtown (30 minutes) or drive with your own bus over to the Residence. Of course, a lunch break may be included.

The Residence Palace was the later seat of the prince-bishops and is a highlight of every Würzburg visit. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site for nearly 40 years now. Admire one of the largest ceiling fresco paintings of the world by the Venetian painter Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and enjoy the splendor and wealth of Würzburg Rococo style in one of the most magnificent palaces of 18th century Europe.
