On 16th March 1945 the old city of Würzburg was nearly 90 per cent destroyed. This special tour concentrates on the reconstruction and development of Würzburg after World War II. The tour starts at the model of the destroyed city in the town hall’s documentation room. Subsequently different ways of handling with the ruins such as reconstruction, rebuilding and building anew are visualized. Finally, the Mozart Schoolhouse, a listed monument and outstanding example of post-war architecture will be presented.
